In the center of Almaty is one of the most significant sports facilities in Kazakhstan – the Central Stadium. Built in 1958, it is an oval structure with four stands: north, south, east, and west, designed for 23,804 spectators. Each spectator sector is equipped with plastic seats with comfortable backrests at least 38 cm high. Thanks to modern lighting systems, the stadium can host events in the evening. The playing field measures 105 by 68 meters.
The Central Stadium is the home ground for the Kairat Football Club and the Kazakhstan national team. It includes both large and small arenas, running tracks, sports sectors, and specialized halls for boxing, wrestling, and fencing. In addition, the stadium grounds have an artificial turf field.
