Sabah vs. Borussia, Champions League in Baku

Two football clubs separated by an entire era will meet at the Baku Olympic Stadium. Borussia Dortmund, founded in 1909, is one of Germany’s oldest and most decorated clubs: a multiple Bundesliga champion, UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup holder and UEFA Champions League winner. Sabah, founded only in 2017, have gone from newcomers in the Azerbaijani league to participants in Europe’s premier club competition in less than a decade. The meeting between these teams is one of those sporting events that make history and remain in the memory forever. You can buy tickets online for the Sabah vs. Borussia Dortmund Champions League match on our website.

Sabah have made history by becoming the first club to progress through four qualifying rounds in their debut Champions League campaign. The “Owls”’ qualifying run included victories over The New Saints, KuPS, Aarhus and a dramatic triumph over Hapoel Be’er Sheva, when the team scored five goals in the second leg to secure their place in the Champions League. The club became only the second representative of Azerbaijan in the Champions League after Qarabağ, and now fans in Baku can enjoy visits from some of the strongest football clubs in Europe.

Borussia Dortmund will bring their trademark style to Baku — fast-paced, aggressive football with constant pressure on the opposition’s goal. The famous atmosphere of Signal Iduna Park, with a capacity of more than 81,000 spectators and its legendary “Yellow Wall”, makes Dortmund one of the most formidable home sides in Europe, while the team consistently demonstrates their high level away from home as well. This Sabah vs. Borussia Dortmund match is a unique opportunity to see stars of German and European football live, experience the atmosphere of the UEFA Champions League and support your team from the stands.
