Description
The Rajamangala National Stadium, located in Bangkok's Bangkapi district, is a key sporting venue in Thailand. Built in the 1990s and opened in 1998, it has become an important venue for international events such as the Summer Asian Games and the ASEAN University Games. Originally designed to accommodate 80,000 spectators, the stadium has been modernized and can now accommodate up to 65,000 people. It is the home stadium of the Thailand national football team and also regularly hosts national cup finals.
Rajamangala is known for hosting major sporting events, including matches of the 2007 Asian Cup and the Summer Universiade of the same year. In 2012, it hosted the prestigious international motor race, the Race of Champions. In addition to football matches, the stadium also serves as a venue for track and field competitions, concerts, and national holidays.
