Description

Located in the heart of Baku, the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium is a significant sports venue with a rich history. Opened on September 16, 1951, the stadium is named after the renowned Azerbaijani referee Tofiq Bahramov. Today, it serves as the home ground for the Agdam-based club Qarabag and the Azerbaijan national football team. Construction of the arena began back in 1939 but was halted due to World War II. Work resumed in 1951, and the stadium soon opened its doors to spectators. It underwent several name changes over the years before being named after Tofiq Bahramov in 1993. In 2012, the stadium underwent a major renovation carried out by the Korean company Samhwa Telecom, increasing its capacity to 31,200 seats. This makes it one of the largest sports venues in the region. In addition to football matches, the stadium hosts international competitions; for instance, it hosted matches for the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup—including the opening and final ceremonies—in September and October of that year. You can purchase tickets for events on our website, which also features up-to-date schedules and announcements for upcoming events. This stadium is more than just a sports facility; it is a symbol of Azerbaijan's sporting heritage and cultural richness. We invite all sports enthusiasts to visit this unique venue and become part of its history.
